In very few words one could describe SAKMIL as the percussion group in Klepp Hornmusikk. Klepp
Hornmusikk is a wind band located in the very South-West of Norway, a few miles outside Stavanger -
the oil "capital" of Norway. The band consists of approximately 70 musicians and plays a wide range of
music - extending from old classics to modern jazz style. <P>
SAKMIL is in other words actually nothing but a part of this excellent wind band. The group consists of
the six percussionists in Klepp Hornmusikk and does some shows and performances once in a while. You may
actually have found this page at the "Drum and Bugle Corps" section of Yahoo, but to describe SAKMIL as
a Drum and Bugle Corps would be a little mistake. SAKMIL is a pure drummers-only group. Our target is
to have fun - and maybe make a little money out of it. <P>

So - what does a SAKMIL show include? Well, one could say that our shows is a little inspired from
military bands, and in particular the Royal Norwegian Guard. However, there is one exception: Unlike
most military bands we do our shows not only with style, but also with a smile. Actually, we sort of parody the military and do a lot of crap while we are performing.<P>
If you by now have got the impression that SAKMIL is something very serious, you have probably got the
wrong impression. SAKMIL is actually nothing else but a "make-a-hell-out-of-everything" organisation and a great pain in the ass to most of the members of Klepp Hornmusikk. The fun is more important to us
than the music we play - and that is also how it will be in the future. One of our mottos - <I>don't play
sucker with SAKMIL</I> - should tell about everything about this very exclusive and weird drumming group.

SAKMIL consists of six excellent drummers, namely <I> Arne Braut d.y. (Litle-Store), Arne
Andersen (Store-Litle), Bjørn Granberg (Boris), Hallstein Otnes (Nodnes), Frode Efteland</I>
and<I> Ingebret Sele. </I> Also, there are some members of honour, <I> Gry Lind Olsen
</I>and<I> Ingeborg Løseth </I> that is. In addition, SAKMIL also has some associated members,
namely <I> Håvard Hana, John-Axel Granberg (Johnne) </I>and<I> Egil Ellingsen (Gille) </I>.<BR>
Those are mainly working as stand-in's in the great SAKMIL stunts, a task which they have
done excellent!<P>

As SAKMIL was in Bournemouth, England in the summer of 1995, we had a crazy meeting with an old,
ugly English man who just didn't like our presence. We have just called him <A HREF="english/sucker.html" TARGET="_top">
